Study on broad pass-band and wide rejection band of band-pass filters

摘要A type of band-pass filters which had the characters of broad pass-band (from 540 nm to 750 nm) and wide rejection band (from 400 nm to 520 nm and from 770 nm to 1100 nm) were designed on K9 substrate. In order to achieve the target, a type of combining stacks which included long-pass stacks and short-pass stacks was set up on both side of the substrate. The spectrum from 400 nm to 520 nm and from 770 nm to 1100 nm was rejected by the combining stacks. The band-pass from 540 nm to 750 nm was received by the intersection of the long-pass stacks and short-pass stacks. The total numbers and thickness of the combining stacks were 48 and 5.03 m, respectively. The coatings were fabricated by electron beam physical vapor deposition (EBPVD). Two types of coating materials titanium oxide (TiO2) and silicon oxide (SiO2) which was treated as high index and low index material respectively were used in this process. The spectrophotometer was used to measure the transmittance of the sample which was coated the combining stacks. The test result indicates that its average transmittance of band-pass was about 85.82% of broad pass-band from 540 nm to 750 nm. The half width at half-maximum (HWHM) was about 221 nm. The depth of cutoffs which was from 400 nm to 520 nm and from 770 nm to 1100 nm were reached 1.36% and 1.27%, respectively. And it almost accords with the designing result, which had the characters of wide band-pass and broad rejection band. Measurement of stability and firmness indicates the coatings had good performance. It makes it possible to be used in some rigorous environment.
