摘要We demonstrate an efficient and compact yellow-green laser at 556 nm generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a continuous wave (CW) laser diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser at 1112 nm. An lithium triborate (LBO) crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature, is used for second-harmonic generation (SHG) of the fundamental laser. With an incident pump power of 18 W, as high as 3.2 W of CW output power at 556 nm is achieved. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is as high as 17.8%, and the output power stability in 3 h is better than +/- 4.58%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest watt-level yellow-green laser generated by frequency doubling of a diode-pumped Nd: YAG laser at 1112 nm. (C) 2009 Optical Society of America
