Large field-of-view stitching with a single lens and its implementation

摘要In a remote target trajectory measurement system, the currently utilized telephoto cameras tend to have too small of a viewing angle to realize stable image capture of remote targets due to limitations of the CCD size. We aim to address the demands of such a system using a large Field-of-V iew (FoV) image collection method that uses a single camera to simulate a 4-camera array by performing a cone rotation. This approach was presented on the basis of a comparison with the current large field-of-view stitching methods. A prototype for testing was designed to verify the method. The camera motion control scheme and the corresponding mechanical structure were designed according to the image collection method. Then the camera trigger control and the image data transmission and processing flow were designed. Finally, an experiment with the prototype was performed. In the experiment, the prototype collected correct relative position sub-images after calibration and stitched them into a large FoV image. field stitching was realized using 4 sub-FoVs that were overlapped with each other to some degree. Finally, a large angle of view of 1.93 was obtained when using a camera with a small angle-of-view of only 1.02.
