Semimagnetic semiconductor Zn1-xMnxSe (x = 0.01) exhibits a broad-band absorption in the region of the band edge. The absorption is easily blue-shifted with the pump-probe system. Optical bistability is obtained for the first time in a wider range of excitation wavelengths. The origins of the nonlinear and bistable effects are discussed.
