摘要In consideration of the dispersiveness for metal, the band structures of 2-D metallic photonic crystals were analyzed by using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. By taking metal Al for the example and setting the filling factor to be 0.6, the band structures from a triangular lattice and a square lattice were compared. The results show that the first band gap's upper limit frequency is 0.88 and the second band gap's bound is 1.25-1.43 for the triangular lattice and those are 0.69 and 0.85-1.09 for the square lattice. The research indicates that the triangular lattice has a wider first band gap and a higher second frequency as compared with the square lattice. Furthermore, 2-D metallic photonic crystal waveguides were designed based on the band structures. The transmission characteristic of a 2-D 90-bent waveguide was investigated under TM polarization. The dependence of transmission efficiency on period under an appropriate filling factor was studied. It shows that the transmission efficiency has achieved by 85. 1% at the wavelength selected. It satisfies the requirements of bend waveguides for lowlosses.
