摘要For the shortcomings of single-pulse laser drilling, the multi-pulse laser drilling was researched based on the theoretical analysis. The effect of different laser waveforms on the drilling quality was analyzed, then, a Nd:YAG laser was used to drill holes on the thin steel sheet with a thickness of 1 mm. In the experiment, a hole with diameter less than 1 mm was obtained. The drilling results by single pulse laser and by multi-pulse laser were compared, and it shows that the quality of the hole generated by the three-pulse laser waveform was superior to that by a single-pulse laser, and both the optimal pulse width and the best pulse interval are 100 s. Furthermore, the experiments also show that the drilling quality from the three-pulse laser is better than that from a double-pulse laser.
